Today, I got a new wiimote and just pressed on the power button, then pressed on buttons 1 & 2. Once the unit was on, I started up the software and got to the white screen for calibration. Thanks for your suggestion. It worked. I now need to get a decent IR pen to complete the calibration process. I am the way.
I was wondering if I need the Wii console to turn the wiimote on? Is there a way to turn on the device without having the console? I purchased a new wiimote, but I don't know if I need to sync it with a console first. Thanks.
Thanks, Dave. I will try these suggestions. I was using the wiimote whiteboard software from the site you gave me. I will try turning on the wii and then starting up the software and see how that works.
This is encouraging. I actually tried to set up the wiimote whiteboard system yesterday. I ran into some problems with trying to get the wiimote to sync with my Mac and getting the wiimote whiteboard software to calibrate the wiimote. I am going to experiment with the location of the wiimote to see if the proximity and angle makes a difference. How did you get this part of the setup to work?
I have just learned about the wiimote whiteboard system. I am very interesting in learning more about how teachers are using this technology in real classrooms. What has your experience been? How is it going?
